Sundance Company & Teide Pty Ltd have just announced they will be importing & distributing the Knysna Racing Kayaks Jester junior surf-ski and Knysna Racing Kayaks kids range of paddles to both the local Australia & New Zealand markets.

When we spoke with him Andrew Sneddon of Sundance Company told us “Our aim is to grow the sport of surfski paddling from the grass roots up as we want more kids enjoying the beautiful waters of Aus & NZ.”

The Jester is manufactured by Knysna Racing in South Africa, and is reported to be suited to junior and smaller build paddlers. Knysna’s website states that the Jester has been designed for both wave riding, flat water and bumpy  conditions.

When describing the Jester Sneddon stated that “The Jester junior surf-ski models adds another exciting surf-ski product to the local Australian and New Zealand paddle sport industry at a price that may be hard for existing manufacturers to match.”

Carlos Perez says “The Jester is a fun ski aimed at kids, ladies and smaller paddlers, has a fully adjustable footplate which can accommodate paddlers up to 1.78m in height, is available in Glass vacuum layup which comes in at just 13kg, is extremely stable, and is available in eight exciting colours“.

  • Gear Review
  • Photo Gallery
  • Paddler Story
  • Race Review

We’re lining up a few junior paddlers and smaller frame guys and girls to try it out and get a feel for it, and we’re shooting some stunning photos to post in a gallery of paddler eye candy for you.

We will also be sending one or more of the team to their nearest Blast Paddlers time trial, to put the new Knysna Jester junior surfski through its paces in race conditions under the clock, and posting an official computer timed result over 10km for all to see.
